Flying outside of my comfort zone, a re-post

David Marcu

Right now I am comfortable exactly where I am doing what I am doing. I am not exactly happy, but I am able to pay my bills. I have an opportunity to venture out to another level. A level that I have not been before. At first, I thought that I absolutely positively wanted to grab that opportunity. I bought a new suit and told everyone that I was ready and waiting. I have been writing constantly that I am waiting for my THING to happen. Now that my THING is on the horizon (at least for the seeing, the asking, and hopefully the taking) I have butterflies in my stomach. For a hot second after reading the job description I doubted everything that I have ever done. For a hot second, I did not think I was good enough. Luckily it was only for two hot seconds and then it passed. I still have the butterflies, but I am considering them to be a good sign. A sign that I am stretching, willing to go after my THING, willing to put myself out there.

Are you hanging on to something because it feels comfortable and you do not want to tempt fate? Are you afraid to try something new? I found two quotes that may make it to my mirror, but for right now, they are telling me that I am doing the right thing.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out, Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.

Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.
