Flying with LeRoy Homer Jr.

I read a comment today and felt compelled to reply in the blog rather than just a comment. A reader kindly suggested that we read the website of LeRoy Homer, Jr. This is a man who soared to immeasurable heights. He was the First Officer of United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed on 9/11. He wanted to fly ever since he was a child and died doing what he loved doing, flying. Check out the website: http://www.leroywhomerjr.org/.



Homer was a man of purpose and pursuit. He was an Air Force Academy graduate, a recruiter for the academy, a former Air Force pilot, and an Air Force reservist. Probably most important to him, he was a dedicated family man.


The foundation provides scholarships for flying lessons for adolescents interested in one day pursuing an aviation career.This is the legacy he leaves behind. He exemplifies flying. He was flying until his death.



What greater joy is there than to soar? Remember to fly is to succeed. The quote on the LeRoy Homer, Jr. Foundation website said it best:
