Flying with Thursday's Word-Pit by Brenda Smith, part 2

Thursday's Word

You will learn Jesus is a deliverer with a great track record. True deliverance takes some time, some titanic effort, and more patience than the best of people possess. You and I need a strong arm and a long arm. Listen to Apostle Paul in 2 Corin 1:10 "He has delivered us....he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us" (emphasis mine). Past. Present. Future. That's the kind of deliverance you are looking for from your pit. People rightly can wear out from hearing us cry, but God never tires from hearing us. Please don't get upset with people are not always being available to help you.  God is able!   

There are 3 steps out of the pit and they involve your mouth:  Cry out.  Confess.  Consent.
 
And it all begins with a cry. The kind the psalmist was talking about erupts from the deepest part of a person's soul as if his or her life depends on it. This cry from the depths makes its first good use of the pit, aiming the petition straight up those narrow walls to the throne of God. The One who says nothing is impossible.  Then confess. Confession in its widest sense is our means of baring our hearts and souls before God. Confession is telling God how much you need Him. If you hold nothing back neither will God. And finally, consent is the most beautiful part of the process of getting out of your pit. God wants you out of that pit. He wants you in victory. Out of defeat. Period. So all you have to do is consent to what He already wants.
Can you celebrate the simplicity of this step? (I John 5:14-15) says, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
