Flying in a new place

Have you ever been in the same place with the same people and feel oddly different and maybe even uncomfortable? That happened to me the other day. I honestly did not realize how angry I was until I walked into the event. I did the best I could to be polite, cheerful, and professional. It worked for a while and then it did not. So, I left. I left after eating my first cake pop-red velvet.

I do not feel bad about leaving. I do not feel the need to apologize. I think it is just time to move on. I am not yet sure what to do about the friends that are still in that place. Maybe there is nothing to do. Won't it all sort itself out?

Perhaps one day the olive branch will be extended. It is much too early to speculate on the outcome. There is no rule book on how handle these situations. Open communication is probably the best option, but right now not now.

Crazy as it sounds, I am okay with the way things are. I do not have time to dwell on it and I am not really interested. I think the time has passed. I think I have worn out my participation. It happens and even though I would have handled things differently the decision was not mine. The decision is mine on what I do going forward.

I will walk on the other side of the fence for a while and maybe forever. The grass may not be greener, but there is no tension and I can breathe easier.

Who can't relate to the idea of leaving one chapter behind and moving on to the next?
