Brenda Smith will be a regular on Thursdays. She writes her own blog Thursday's Word.
Mix is to combine into one mass collection, assembly, unite, or join.
Blend is to mix smoothly and inseparably together. You are looking for quality here.
Mixing
bowls, measuring spoons, measuring cups, sifters, spatulas are all used
to make a cake. If done by hand now, it would be considered the
“old-fashioned” way of baking. But, add a blender and you will cut the
time in half. The best treat of all after Mom had finished with the
mixing was to give us the spoon. Joy in life is remembering that ‘small
stuff’ does matter.
It
took all these ingredients mixed and blended together to make the cake
good. We as Christians are to mix with others in the world. It means
that we are expected to do our gospel task of making this world a better
place. We need to be out there, being mixed up into people, culture, and society. Ye are the salt of the earth.
(Matthew 5:13), but if you stay bottled up inside the shaker, if the
only place you act like a Christian is when you’re inside the salt box
that is the church, what good are you? Take this
simple image of a salt shaker being picked up and then the contents
being sprinkled throughout the world. When we are out mixing and
blending in the
world, does not mean we are to be doing what the world is doing in an
evil manner.
You
need to mix in without blending in! You need to unite or join the
people, but be separate from the way in which they are living. It is easy to let your light shine among people you already know. The people on the outside need your light for guidance. ‘Ye are the light of the world’
(Matthew 5:14). As a Christian intent on kingdom building, you must mix
into the world, bringing your gospel savor. Salt that never leaves the
shaker does nothing to add flavor or zing to your French fries, and
likewise Christian disciples who never interact with non-Christian
people have no chance of reaching those people who are hurting. The Holy
Spirit is your guide to knowing just how much gospel salt to add and
just how much to withhold. If your light is shining and
if our lives reflect God’s desires for life, then sooner or later we most certainly will season the lives we touch.
Jesus did not say we are salt substitutes…He said we are the salt of the earth. The only
question for you is whether you will be useful salt by mixing into the
parts of this world that need your seasoning influence or whether you
will stay in the shaker. Amen.
May God continue to bless you is my prayer.

Most of the games are indie titles but there are a few notable 'normal'
games including the previously mentioned Final Fantasy III and Sonic 4 Episodes 1 and 2.
Once installed the program can be run; however the frame rate of
v - NES is rather slow on a Black - Berry Curve and there
isn't much that can be done to improve the performance.
N5 supports clean ROMs, Homebrews and Multimedia files with no
slow-downs or hang-ups.
