Flying in the face of Hurricane Hanna

I went to the grocery store this morning and there were boxes and boxes of water and flashlights right inside the door. The storm is coming. Okay, the newscasters keep saying not to focus on the yellow line which goes right through Charleston, SC, but we are not listening. The last word is that Hanna will hit somewhere between Savannah, GA and North Carolina. Charleston in right there! Some are not waiting for the voluntary or involuntary evacuation. That is probably smart. I just cannot commit to leaving just yet. I did buy two cases of water and two flashlights with batteries this morning.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could prepare for all of our personal storms the way we can for the forecasted hurricanes? I think that sometimes I just ignore the signs and pretend that my personal issue will at the last minute go somewhere else. That rarely happens, if ever. I have a better chance of Hanna leaving me alone. But then there is Ike, Josephine and now Karina in the wings.

I pray that everyone be safe and secure. I will keep you posted on Hanna's visit. Maybe she will be gentle.
