Saturday I completed my goal of running 366 miles this year. I ran seven miles which brought my total to 372.6. Someone told me that I should change my goal to 500 miles this year. I will NOT. I might (or might not) make another goal to run more miles. I will NOT, I repeat, will NOT change my original goal. I will admit that I reached my goal much sooner than I expected and that is fine. I accomplished what I set out to do. It was my goal and only I can decide to increase it, delete it, or ignore it. I do not intend to stop running, I am just not sure if I need or want another goal. I am empowered to decide. While I may welcome the advice and suggestions of others, it is strictly up to me and I like it that way.
Please do not allow anyone to determine what you should or should not do with your goals. They are exactly that: YOURS.
