We are all Angels and we need each other to Fly

There is a lovely "New Age" singer, Karen Drucker, who sings a song called, "We are all Angels"
The lyrics say, "we are all angels who only have one wing, all angels searching for each other, all angels who cannot reach the sky 'cause we need each other to fly..."
I love this song.
It reminds me that asking for support and help is as beneficial to the 'angel' giving the help as it is for the 'angel' recieving it.
We are living in a time when interdependency is a powerful modality. Not one of us is weakened by leaning on the other, we are all strengthen by helping our sisters fly. As our sisters soar to their new heights we are soaring right along side them.
And we all become a little less earth bound.
I just returned from a brief trip to Charlotte, NC. It did not go as smoothly as I had hoped.
So tomorrow after a good night's sleep, and a long bubble bath, i will call my angels and ask them to help set me to rights, gather round and help me remember how to fly right...
They will.
I am blessed with great good friends, and I in turn will answer the call when they need another wing to fly as well.
Interdependency, it can help us all SOAR...
Aim High,
Cookie

Sister most gracious, you have been on my mind all day. I am glad that you are strong enough to ask for the comfort of your angels. Not all of us are that wise. Your post reminded of a story. We never truly know how God will manifest Himself to us. Be assured that after a moment, all will be right in the world.

Here is the story:

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost.

He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, "God! How could you do this to me?" Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island!

It had come to rescue him! "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

Moral of the Story:

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad or things have caused undue stress, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain, suffering, or stress. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.
