Flying with messy hair

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with my coolest friend Tony. Tony drives a purple Porsche convertible. It is not the one in this picture, but you get the idea. The day started off at noon with him helping me use my GPS a bit more effectively. So he drove me around while I tested it.

Then we ended up having an affordable Japanese lunch. That led to us perusing around Best Buy, then exploring the exotic foods and prices at Big Lots, strumming an acoustic  guitar at a music store, and finally ending up at Shoe Carnival in my quest to find a pair of red leather shoes to no avail.

It was one of the best unscripted days. The weather was nice so he drove us back with the top down. The wind whipped my hair into a tangled mess, but I did not care. Some days can handle messiness. Some days are just meant for us to be present in the moment without thinking about the next thing. Without wondering about tomorrow. It felt good to just let go to just be in the moment with messy hair.

When you take your attention into the present moment, a certain alertness arises. You become more conscious of what's around you, but also, strangely, a sense of presence that is both within and without.
