Flying with Thursday's Word Time by Brenda Smith (a day early)

Thursday's Word

TIME is a healer. I hear that quoted a lot, especially, when others are speaking to you about the death of your loved one. But, I beg to differ a bit on that quote, and will say that Jesus heals in time. When God created us in time, He set a certain time for us to live and die. After that beauty declines, we are ready to move into eternity.

We read in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “HE has made everything beautiful in its time. HE has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end”. Beauty means perfected and fulfillment. God creates everything with a purpose and gives every purpose a time that allows it to progress to perfection. What is time? Webster defines time as past, present, future or a system or method of measuring or reckoning the passage of time. That would be minutes, seconds, hours, days, week, years, and centuries. Birth, growth, aging, and death are also part of our vocabulary related to time.

However, we measure it and however we mark it….Time is Winding Up! Saints, it is high time we got about our Father’s business. This present day is time. When we leave here it is eternity. When something drops into this physical, material world …it picks up time. When it leaves here, time is canceled. Eternity is duration without measure. As Myles Munroe has stated ….”Time is a temporary interruption in eternity that will allow you to fulfill what you were sent here to do.” Jehovah God who is eternal, therefore exists outside time. He is not against time, for He is its Creator and He pronounced everything that He created to be very good. (Gen 1:31). God is simply outside time even though He works with people who are in time. How many times have you heard someone say…”Time waits for no man.”

Time will continue right on whether or not we are here. I know a lot of us would like to think we are important and that things will not happen unless we are here to do it. Please, don’t make that mistake in judgment. God loves all of us, but He does not hold up time for us to catch up, or get ready, or decide we want to do a thing. Time marches on and as this ‘fulfillment’ center is now open, let us step up and claim what is rightly ours.
Did you know God’s original plan was not for us to die! He planned for us to live forever. Take a look back in the Word of God and you will see how old many of the saints lived to be. But, all we know is that Methuselah lived to be 969 years old and then died. What else did he do…don’t know? Each of us is on assignment and God expects us to fulfill the assignments that He has given us. You are not working to give that assignment paper to us when completed.

You are to turn it in to the Lord when you step out of time here and into eternity there. He is the one that you are interested in hearing say…”Well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:21). Like me, I know those are words you are one day wanting to hear. But, for now it is Time we got serious about what God has called all of us to do. We don’t have forever down here in time. That purpose and plan will not be canceled down here. When we step from here into eternity only then will it be canceled. Let’s get busy!!!
May God continue to bless you all, is my prayer.
