Flying with Thursday's Word Breath by Brenda Smith (on the right day)

Elaine Li
Thursday's Word

WORD: BREATH
DEFINED: Air inhaled and exhaled in respiration. Especially needed for life.
SCRIPTURE: God’s breath of life gives man his lifeblood, and “the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding” (Job 32:8)

YOUR BREATH IS NOT YOUR OWN. The Spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (Job 33:4). If you are reading this devotional, you are breathing. Let us thank Him! We breathe in and out and it seems to be a simple thing to do. But, it is controlled by our nervous system, breathing is regulated by the respiratory center of the brain and more than twenty respiratory muscles. In all the things that man can boast about creating...HE DID NOT CREATE BREATH!!! It is a gift of God. He is the originator of the process and begins and sustains life.

Genesis 2:7 "AND THE LORD GOD FORMED MAN OF THE DUST OF THE GROUND, AND BREATHED INTO HIS NOSTRILS THE BREATH OF LIFE; AND MAN BECAME A LIVING BEING." - Why don't you thank Him today for His breath being in your body.

Make this the day you inspect your own breath of life. If there’s any false pride that’s arisen, remember that man doesn’t own anything – including his own breath. What we have is from God’s gracious hand, and only what we give back to Him will live and breathe forever.

May God continue to bless you is my prayer.
