We
have this glory of God in Christ residing within us as believers. Now I
ask you again, if you had a treasure of such value that it is worth
more than the sum total of all the earthly wealth, where would you place
it? An earthen vessel is a clay pot. A clay pot is not necessarily a
pot of great beauty, but it can grow great things! The treasure is
placed in the pot because we want the focus on the treasure and not on
the pot. A beautiful pot of china, or porcelain would take the attention
away from what is growing in the pot. The glory does not go to the
vessel, but to the contents of the vessel. The treasure is the gospel of
Jesus Christ alive, growing, shining, and working in your lives. You
are the pot that God has fashioned to hold the treasure. We were all
made for this. God puts his treasure in us because he wants it to be
accessible.
God intends for others to see Christ in us and then from our witness
and from our testimony, find what they need to fill their lives. When
you look at me, you should get a glimpse of God’s glory. It is not me,
but the Jesus in me that you see. Jesus is alive and He is
working through me to encourage, sustain, help, and uplift His people.
Christ in us is the hope of glory!
