Flying with treasure, part 1 by Brenda

WHO’S THE TREASURE….AND WHERE IS IT?
Treasure can be wealth, riches, precious jewels, land, or whatever is BIG on the stock market that is making you money. It can be anything that “you” greatly value: your family, your friends, your career, or your homes. Let me ask you this…”If you had a great treasure, something so valuable where would you put it?” Would you place it in a safe deposit box in the bank? Would you place it under glass in a museum? Would you trust another to look after it? Paul says we have this treasure in earthen vessels. “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” (2 Corinthians 4:6-7).  Treasures can be funny in the sense that what you treasure, another may not? Some have valuable collections of stamps, books, articles, antiques, etc. But, what do you have that will not tarnish, gather dust, go out of style, that will be a legacy to your children and your children’s children? Paul says… it is “YOU.” Yes, you are this treasure in earthen vessels that God wants the light to shine through.
