I am letting Brenda Smith 'take over' for a few days. She says things that really move me and I hope move you as well.
STOKING
THE FIRE. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's
desires. (Psalm 37:4) NLT. The act of building a fire is filled with
anticipation. You choose something easily flammable as a starter and
then position each piece of wood in an orderly pattern. You experience a
thrill when oxygen feeds the fire and the fuel catches, and you lean
back in satisfaction. That is the start of a natural fire that you
ignite. Oh Saints...as you well know it is a difference in that fire and
the fire of the Holy Ghost. Sitting by the fire on a cold night is one
of life's simple pleasures. You poke at the embers and watch,
fascinated, as the sparks fly upward into the flue and disappear from
sight. When you are blessed to hear the Word of God and you recognize
how good God is and has been to you. You can sometimes just close your
eyes and the tears will start to roll down your cheeks. You can get so
stirred up on the inside that you will have to run, shout, dance, and
praise His Holy Name. Jeremiah said...It is like fire shut up in my
bones!!!!!! God gives you constant reminders of himself. It can be a
smile, a cool breeze, a flake of snow, a touch on the cheek, a glance
from across the room, buy one get one free day at your local food store.
All these sparks that are drawn upward, like in the flue of the chimney
seem to disappear. But they reappear in the form of blessings raining
down on you. Glory to God!!! I am praising Him today for His goodness to
me. --Got to do the dance for Jesus!!!!!
