I love getting wisdom form Brenda Smith!
In this season
of goodwill toward men...I have a promise from the Lord "And we know
that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose." That is one of the most
quoted Scriptures in the Bible, yet I believe it is also one of the
hardest for us to understand. I hope to shed a bit of light on this
wonderful and magnificient promise of the Lord. Do all things work
together for good? Do they? Can we still believe in Romans 8:28? How
could Paul be so sure of this particular Scripture?
"All things
work together for good," that seems too definite for us. All things? We
might go as far that "some things" work together for good. We understand
that out of difficulty we learn great lessons of faith that cannot come
any other way. Yes, some things clearly work together for good. BUT,
can we be sure it is really all things? The Word embedded in this
Scripture is "good". Good is equated to health, wealth, happiness, solid
relationships, long life, money, food on the table, meaningful work,
and a nice place to live. This is all good!
