Flying after the flood

My house is still a mess. The repairs may begin next week. I should be jumping for joy, but honestly, I just want my house back together. I want the cardboard boxes with everything I own in my kitchen out of my living room floor.

And I am missing the point. The point is the something new can come out of tragedy. After all, no one was injured. Only things were damaged. things can be replaced. I should take this time to go through the boxes and throw out the things that I promised to get rid of long ago. Now is the time. Out with the old, in with the new. I mean, how often will I get to have my kitchen repainted, new cabinets installed, new ceiling, new carpet put in the dining room and guest bedroom, new paint in the dining room all at the cost of my deductible?Again, no one was hurt. Just the things. Just the things shoved in the back of drawers that I did not even remember I had. Those things. Those things that if someone had thrown them away, I would not have even missed.

Life is like that. Hey, right now, that is my life. We have to make room for new stuff. That is the only way we can grow. It is often painful, but is necessary. Just don't do like I did by focusing on what isn't anymore. No matter how difficult, try to imagine the possibilities. They are endless, if you just believe.
