I read the title of this article and I really did not know what to think. It is called In Iran, a car only for women. Part of me was screaming YOU'RE JOKING, RIGHT? Then I read the article and had a good laugh.
The article it mentions "The car, with electronic parking aids and a jack making it easier to change a wheel, will be painted in soft "feminine" colours and include interior design features aimed specifically at women". Interior features for women...read on "...features considered female-specific. These include an alarm system to warn the driver of flat tyres, an automatic gear box, a navigation system and audiovisual entertainment systems for child passengers in the car".
Aren't alarms to indicate low fuel level, check engine, and low tire pressure pretty standard in most cars these days? My friend's Yukon has a DVD system in it. It also has automatic transmission. And isn't one of the accessories on a the newer model car like the Lexus a parking aid? Don't all cars over here come with a jack? Can't we get a car in almost any color we want? So, this car that is just for women seems to have the amenities that several high end cars in this country have. And in Iran these cars will be just for women! Imagine that.

For a very long time, no one told African American women that they could fly, so there are very few of them as commercial pilots. This website is for inspiring women to fly.
