Flying with Brenda Smith

Brenda Overjoyed Smith's photo.Evangelist Charles Harris, Atlanta GA was our guest today for our Senior's Day Services, which we had the first part on yesterday. The Church That Would Not Be Quiet. (Luke 19:28-40) Have you ever gone to a different Church for the first time and it was not what you expected? I believe we all have and if we do not know what the different denominations believe in or how they worship we may just be surprised. Having said that...if I ever invite you to come to COGS on Green Street, expect some noise!! We are not the Church that worship and praise God quietly. We believe in making a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands. Our Church's slogan/motto is...We are a Church that is alive and worth the drive. If you are alive...Let everything that hath breath, praise ye the Lord. Alive people make noise and let their presence be known. We can hoop and holler about everything that is meaningless, but when it comes to praising God , which is meaningful, we can suddenly be rendered speechless. What?? After all He has done for me...I am not the one who will sit quietly and not praise Him. You have my permission to sit on the other side, please.
Jesus was riding into town on a colt that had never been ridden before. He was coming into Jerusalem and the people started to worship and praise Him. After all, he was just performed mighty miracles just chapters back. Feeding the 5000(world's largest fish fry)...Raising Lazarus from the dead(to show others who God is). The Pharisees thought the disciples were making too much noise. Wanted them to calm down..professionals was amongst them...and look at all the spectators watching them. Told Jesus to tell them to be quiet. (30) Jesus replied...I can guarantee that if they are quiet, the stones will cry out. They were expecting royalty to enter into Jerusalem(Jesus was), but they did not know who he was because he did not arrive in a coach with a fancy horse drawn carriage. They were too busy watching and criticizing how the people were praising God that they missed the fact their King had ridden into town on a colt!!! Too busy complaining about the noise and the people's personal shouts of joy and adoration that they did not recognize the time that God had come to save them. I will praise the Lord with everything that is in me....BLESS HIS HOLY NAME!!
