Flying with Thursday's Word Thankful by Brenda Smith

Word: Thankful

Defined: Feeling or expression of gratitude.

Scripture: "....always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Ephesians 5:15-20)

It is easy to do things for others who have a thankful heart. When you respond to others with thankfulness it brings joy to our God. There are two kinds of people in the world: the givers and the takers. It seems like today there are more takers than givers than ever before. We drastically need people with thankful hearts.

In Galatians 5:22 we read a list of characteristics that are universally known as the "fruit of the Spirit." They are love, joy, peace, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Evidently to be thankful comes by choice.

We choose to be thankful. Have you made thanksgiving a part of your lifestyle? Why not start today. Each day upon rising thank the Lord for another day, good life and purpose for life. At the close of the day, thank Him for watching over you and your families, and providing for your needs. "To proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night." (Psalm 9:22).

THOUGHTS FOR ACTION
- Call someone today to thank them for blessing you in some way.
-Journal your thanks to the Lord.
-Send a thank you note to someone thanking them

Just look up to the heavens and say.."Thank you Lord for another day."  Amen
