Flying with Thursday's Word Empty by Brenda Smith, part 1

WORD: EMPTY, EMPTINESS
DEFINED: Containing nothing. Vacant, unoccupied, or destitute of some quality.
SCRIPTURE: “Jesus said unto them. Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. Jesus saith unto them. Draw out now,……..” (John 2:7-8)
JESUS SHOWED THAT THE WAY TO BE FULL IS TO BE EMPTY. Are you feeling empty? Are you tired and feeling depleted because you feel you have given everything you have to and in a given situation? Then it’s time you got yourself filled. There was a marriage taking place in Cana of Galilee: and they ran out of wine. When they wanted more wine Jesus’s mother told him they had no wine. Jesus said unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come. (4) Jesus did proceed to fill the pots with wine and this became his first miracle. I know, in some cases, others can sometimes think we can perform miracles in their lives. We are constantly being put on the spot to help, assist, seek, find, and to make the impossible possible. That is where we make our mistake…We are trying to be something to others that we are not capable of doing ourselves. We need Jesus to do it.
