JUDGE - a public officer authorized to hear and decide cases in a court of law; a magistrate charged with the administration of justice.
JUDGE
YE NOT! If you see someone who is stumbling, do you think he is drunk?
If you see someone who is dirty, do you think he is homeless? If you see
someone who is asking for money, do you assume he is a beggar? If we are passing judgment, we are not qualified. From the very definition we are not
qualified. We don't know enough about the person to judge him. We don't
know enough about his past. We condemn a man for stumbling this
morning, but we didn't see the ...blows he took on yesterday. We judge a
person who is asking for money, yet we don't know who he had to feed on
last night. We see a man who is dirty, but we don't know if he had to
walk around dirty, for his children to be clean. Perhaps they fell the
last time they got up. I see them rising above it all! I see them
prosperous. I see them saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.
They are our assignments. The saved do not need us. We are to help
those who are lost. "For the Son of man is come to save that which was
lost." (Matt 18:11) We were lost at one time, too. Thank God He sent His
only begotten Son to save us. Dare we judge a book while chapters are
yet unwritten? Should we pass a verdict on a painting while the artist
still holds the brush?
