Brenda Smith's word on broke, part 1

BROKE – REDUCED TO FRAGMENTS, RUPTURED, OR TORN.
BROKEN – SMASHED, INTERRUPTED, DISTURBED, OR DISCONNECTED.
BROKENNESS – WORLD FALLING APART, HITTING ROCK BOTTOM OR DARKNESS.
Have you ever broken a favorite vase? You see it hit the floor and shatter, break into pieces. You start to gather it up with the mindset that you can repair it. Sometimes, you are cut by the pieces, yet you don’t seem to mind because you can ignore the pain, if it means you can repair the broken piece.  In some instances you can repair the vase. You can get the pieces, if not too many, to stick with glue and show no signs of being damaged. But, there are times when the break is too great and the pieces are too many, and you can’t put it back together again….
As in all things, I will always remind you to get God’s perspective on broke, broken, or brokenness. You are asking…”Why would God want to see me broken?” Isn’t that painful?  Of course, it is? God is not intentionally inflicting pain on any of us. But, as we live this life we will come into the time and place when things are broken. Those are the times when we need God to seal the break with His everlasting love. Through adversity, failure, and disappointment, the Father molds us into people whom He can use.
