Flying with peace, part 2

Remember to read more from Brenda on her own blog Thursday's Word

Peace of mind is what we all seem to crave, want, and need. But, is it possible to have peace in this world. This world in which we live is so full of chaos, troubles, struggles, and at times it seems hopeless to even think we can have such a thing as peace. What is peace?  The normal, non-warring condition of a nation. The normal freedom from civil commotion and violence. State of mutual harmony between people.  So...it is normal for us to crave peace and to want peace in our lives.  Illusive means deceptive or unreal. Can we truly have peace of mind in this world?   "Yes" we can.  But, we can only have this peace and we can only find this peace in Jesus Christ.  Peace is our legacy given to us by Jesus himself. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you." He is the PRINCE OF PEACE, and his gospel is the "gospel of peace." Why?  Because he is the author. "In the world you shall have tribulation; but these things have I spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace." It is a fruit of the Spirit:  "love, joy, peace."  Our peace does not come from what or who we are, but from what God has already done. How he has justified us in response to our faith. How much we grow each time we come through a trial. How we are more willing to share our testimony when he has delivered us from out of our pit. How we are glad to raise our hands in praise and lift our voices in thanksgiving when we remember that only God could have brought us through.
