Flying with spirtual flying lessons from Brenda Smith

This time I stole this from Brenda. But I did tell her I was taking it!
Spiritual flying lessons are simple: Wait for and trust in God. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:30-31.
I think of the baby birds when they are learning to take flight. The mother bird will constantly push them closer to the end of the nest. Each day she gets them closer to taking the effort to spread those wings. I watched a robin feed her young and she had the worm in her mouth, dangling and the baby bird had to move closer to the edge of the nest to receive the nourishment. It became tired and flopped back down. I heard it chirping wildly.
She actually flew off, made a circle and came back again. The bird got back up and pushed closer still and then she sat on the nest and fed the bird. I wondered...Why is she doing this? The bird had to constantly flap his wings in order to gain control, balance, and look up to receive the food. He was being taught stamina and endurance. Teaching the little bird to tap into the strength far beyond his own -- hers.
You may be sitting and just flapping your wings. Trying this and that to take flight and lift off. You become tired and need to rest. God is circling around you, blowing his breath on you to give you strength. Be like the little bird....move closer to the end of that comfort zone and look up to the Lord for nourishment in His Word. Tap into HIS strength... I see you...Wings of eagles, indeed!!!! God bless.
