Flying with cake

I am a huge fan of buttercream frosting on cake. I am happy to say that my craving has not yet materialized this year and I have been buttercream-free for almost two months. I can attribute most of that to my dear sistergirlfriend Madeleine moving back to New York and not accompanying me to the Sugar Bakery downtown. No other confection compares except my mom's homemade frosting. I need to stop before I wake the craving up from its nap!

I like this quote not only because it talks about cake, but because it makes sense about a lot of things. This came from academicladder via Twitter, who has provided me with timely support during my on-going dissertation writing journey.

You don't criticize the ingredients of a cake as you bake it. Why would you criticize each sentence as you write it? Let the thing get made
