Flying while learning not to take things personally

I am trying not to take things personally at work. I say trying, because that is my prayer several times a day. I tend to get my feelings hurt and that is wearing me out. Realize that business decisions are often made without regard to whether you are liked or not. Just because your idea was not chosen, it does not mean your boss has a personal grudge on you.


Don't let hurt feelings take control of you. You will run the risk of damaging business relationships with unfound personal grudges.


When things at work don't go your way, don't think it has to do with you. Think of tough decision you have had to make that had noting to do with the individuals they affected.


Above all else, pray for a renewed spirit and the wisdom to see past the cloud of taking things personally. Chance are, the decisions made are not about you are me. And if they are, seek the advice of someone you trust and consider other actions.
