Flying with what we have

I hate it when someone tells me that someone somewhere else has it much harder than I do. As if what I am going through doesn't rate on the imaginary universal tough times scale. I realize that there will always be someone who has it better, worse, who is smarter, prettier, richer, poorer, etc. etc. It will always be that way as we all have crosses to bear.

None of that changes the fact that I am going through hell right now. (I'm really not, but you get the point.) Remember this when you are consoling a friend. We all have our own stuff to deal with and that stuff is important and tragic no matter what you might think.

And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn't really change the fact that you have what you have.
