Flying when your heart hurts

We all think that the grass is greener on the other side. I was sadly mistaken, my dear sistergirlfriend LaVondilyn Watson made me aware that even in the best of of times, things are not always as they appear. To prove that point, she has written a powerful book called When Your Heart Hurts.

She says (and I am sure we all agree) Bad things happen to good people. Car accidents happen. Hurricanes wipe out nations. Governments turn corrupt. And, unfortunately, marriages and relationships fail. We live on earth - a place where evil and pain exist. But fortunately, for us, we have a very loving and capable God who has promised to comfort us and protect us when we have to go through painful times in life. When my husband began to speak of divorce, I never once doubted God.

The key is to ...refuse to lead with fear. I am going to ask you to do what my personal development mentor, Mr. Jim Rohn, teaches: "Discipline your disappointment." When bad things happen to us, and we're afraid, hurt and disappointed, we tend to let those feelings sit in the driver's seat. But, as a child of God, you must know that you are safe with Him. He's got you covered - even in your pain. Never let fear deter you because you have a Guide called the Spirit of Truth who drives a lot better than fear, hurt and disappointment!
