My dear sistergirlfriend Ginger Rosenberg ran for city council. Not only did she run for city council, the local newspaper (Post & Courier) endorsed her. Not only that, but she garnered 268 votes and 40% of the vote. That was the most of the three candidates. Unfortunately, 50% is needed to win the seat.
I am proud of Ginger because she did not sit on the sidelines and complain. She took action. She organized and ran a great campaign. She went door to door. She delivered a sound message. She was more than a name on a yard sign. This is a true example of flying. The run-off will be in the next few weeks.
The local paper is sure to mention her name, again. Who knows how many doors this will open for her. I do know that this is the beginning of something wonderful. Power to the people! This is why we vote, to put qualified candidates in office. The fact that some of them may be dear sistergirlfriends is a plus!
