Why are we afraid of Friday the 13th? I searched for the answer and could not find a good one. Some say that the crucifixion was done on a Friday and the great flood was on a Friday. The connection between the number 13 and Friday is also obscure. Some believe that it began with the Lord's Supper, that 13 sat down and only 12 remained.
Believe it or not, there is a word for the fear of Friday the 13th. It is paraskevidekatriaphobics. It has been written that over $750 million is lost because people refuse to shop and travel on Friday the 13th.
