Flying with Thursday's Word by Brenda Smith

GOT A GOOD FOUNDATION?

Nolan Issac
I Cor 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay that that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

It is important that we have a good foundation in Jesus Christ!  In times of storms with strong wind and flooding rains, that house is not moved because it has a good foundation. But the builder who builds on sand under the same stormy conditions will lose everything because the house has no foundation to anchor it and hold it in place.

YOU are the same as one of these two types of houses. When you dig deep into the word of God to learn and put the word into practice in your life, you are building the foundation that is building on the Rock of Christ.  YOU must hear and do the Word of God in order to build a strong foundation.

JESUS IS OUR CORNERSTONE. A builder watched as the foundation to his own house was being built. He had learned from many that when stones or bricks are laid in a house they always start a corner, and this cornerstone is the most important stone or brick that is laid. What you find is that when the cornerstone is laid, the position of every other brick in the house is set. If it is in the wrong place, then every brick will be wrong. That is why the cornerstone is critical to building a house.  Just as the Apostles and prophets laid the foundation of the teachings of the New Covenant in Christ. As you grow in Him you are built into His spiritual dwelling place as part of the spiritual temple of God.

Can you live in a house with only a foundation? It is not a house until more work is done and rooms are added for living space for it to become a complete building.  But if your foundation is not good, the building(you) will not be able to stand.

May God continue to bless you in Jesus Name.
