Thursday's Word

Do you think God intervenes in our daily lives today? Do you think He gets involved, so as to alter or hinder an action, or through force or threat of force, steps in and does what we know only God could do? That would be divine intervention. Divine because it is of God. God intervened in the human world over 2000 years ago when He sent Jesus to become our Savior. He interposed Himself between us and the penalty of sin that was due us and took it upon Himself.  Scripture states in I Corin. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness,

andsanctification, and redemption:  This was an eternal act of intervention, never to be done away with and will never be repeated.  Because of Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross, He interposed Himself between us and our sin and reconciled us to God.

We are called by our friends to be intercessors or to stand in the gap and make up a hedge around people. This is our ministry of “intervention” or “interposing” ourselves between someone and their need. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27). For it is in our desperation and in our deepest need for help that we find we cannot pray, and we sometimes don’t know what to pray for. But the The Holy Spirit knows what we need by searching our hearts! He speaks to God in our place and God steps in and bring about a different result than what we are seeing.

We have been through much this past year, but I believe that God is going to intervene suddenly on behalf of His people and do some marvelous and wonderful things in our lives. God steps into our situations no matter how difficult they are and brings renewal, restoration,  and revival to our hearts. God can help you when you can’t seem to help yourself. God will make a way when there is no way. God is capable of turning the most desperate situations around. When all seems lost and your way is not clear, let God be the light that shines on your path. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105) For all your situations that you deem hopeless…pray, speak the word, and then expect God to intervene. In those situations…just say, “BUT GOD.”

May God bless you is my prayer.
