Flying in the face of convention

One of my newest sister girlfriends told me that she had gone motorcycle shopping. Let me say that she is very daring and the thought really did not surprise me. She said that she wanted to be able to rev up the engine and have people take notice as she went VAROM past us. I was amazed and honored that she decided to share this with me. I could see her on a bike. Well, except for the fact that she always wears 3 inch heels and I do not think they would fare well. She admitted that her shoes could possibly the one thing that stops her from getting a bike. This could open a whole new advertising angle for motorcycles.

After a few more minutes of conversation, she disclosed the real reason for her real reason for considering the motorcycle, the high cost of gas. Yup, plain and simple economics. Funny, instead of carpooling, telecommuting, or something equally mundane she opted for a motorcycle. She hasn’t gotten it yet. She was looking at Hondas, but her dream bike is a Harley. I have not doubt that she will get one. I just hope, she stops by and offers me a ride.

How do you cope with adversity and change? Do you seek tried and true methods or do you tread your own path?
